What the Boot Camp is

Focused, supervisor-led preparation for a case-based exam.

The NPE Boot Camp is an exam-preparation program for provisional and early career psychologists sitting the National Psychology Examination — not a credential, and not a substitute for your supervised hours. It is cohort-based and delivered live by a Board-Approved Supervisor, so you can ask real questions, work through real vignettes, and build applied judgement alongside your peers.

  • Five domain modules mapped directly to the published NPE blueprint.
  • Built by Australia's longest-running provisional-psychologist college, and rewritten in January 2026 for the December 2025 curriculum.
  • Live facilitation by a Board-Approved Supervisor (BAS), not pre-recorded video.
  • Backed by Placement & Learning Support (PALS) across the whole journey.

Inside the camp

What the full Boot Camp includes.

Five modules and 50+ hours, with the readings, practice questions and support you need to sit the exam feeling well prepared.

Modules

Five domain modules

One module per assessment area, mapped to the NPE blueprint — the structure of the exam, made teachable.

Readings

PsyBA-published exam readings

The published reference material the exam draws on, organised so you study the right things in the right order.

Practice

Domain practice questions

Case-based questions across all four domains so you rehearse applied judgement, not factual recall.

Mock exam

A full-length practice exam

A complete timed run-through that mirrors the real format, so exam day feels familiar rather than foreign.

Tools

Psychometric tests & multimedia

Psychometric tests and multimedia learning materials to reinforce concepts in more than one way.

Support

PALS support

A dedicated Placement & Learning Support team available throughout the program.

Understand the exam

The NPE and its four assessment domains.

The National Psychology Examination tests applied judgement through case-based questions, not factual recall. The Boot Camp is built around all four assessment domains under the December 2025 curriculum.

Ethics & professional matters

The NPE's largest reasoning load. Vignettes test how you apply the PsyBA Code of Conduct — mandatory reporting, confidentiality limits, boundaries and dual relationships, record-keeping, and telehealth — under the December 2025 framework.

COPP is an educator, not a regulator: the National Psychology Examination and general registration are administered by the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) under AHPRA. Completing the Boot Camp is not a credential or a qualifying step toward registration.

What the Boot Camp offers is structured, supervisor-led preparation mapped to the published NPE blueprint — including a full-length practice exam — so you sit the exam genuinely prepared. The pass standard is scaled and set by PsyBA.
