The Registration Program extends over two years to encompass the statutory time for supervision.

The Registration Program consists of 4 parts:

1. Practicums and Seminars run by the College
2. Face-to Face Supervision
3. Organisation Visits

4. Psychology Related Job.

1. Practicums.
Practicums involve the supervised practical application (as in a classroom or clinic) of previously demonstrated skills. Practicums involve a minimum of 60 hours but most interns complete more.

Exemptions: Where an intern has had considerable experience in the area of a particular practicum they may seek exemption from that practicum and substitute other work. Each exemption will be dealt with individually.

2. Supervision (Mentoring).
The balance of the program involves a minimum of 100 hours spent in face-to-face supervision mentoring). Supervision (mentoring) is by registered psychologists with many years experience after registration, and who run their own practices. Some interns complete more than the 100 minimum hours required, if they complete less than 60 hours practicums/workshops.

3. Organisation Visits.
Visits required by the Registration Board are arranged by the College.

4. Psychology Related Job.
95 percent of the College's interns are in full-time paid employment, which enables them to start their careers as professional psychologists.

SUPERVISION BY OTHER PSYCHOLOGISTS
The College of Psychological Practice in no way intends to interfere with supervision arrangements which already exist, or which are privately arranged between intern and psychologist.

However, the arrangement needs formal approval by the College.
